Anderson (circa 1863 – 1921) Anna (circa 1865 – 1957)
Anderson and Anna married and raised thirteen children in Oglethorpe County, just outside of Woodville Georgia. They were devout members of Mount Zion Baptist Church and valued education for their children. Anderson was a sharecropper. He worked hard to support his family. He was instrumental in keeping his family together. He instilled, in his children, the worth of hard work, being independent, and the important of family unity.
Anna was a soft spoken intelligent woman, who dedicated her life to teaching and developing her family unit in to becoming strong and respectful citizens. Anderson died while in his mid-fifties and Anna died at the age of ninety-two years old. Anderson and Anna had thirteen children, born in Oglethorpe County, Georgia.
Ora Jewel (1887 – 1964) married, Eddie Gresham, and had thirteen children were born, Mattie, Jessie Mae, Eddie Lou, Annie Bell, Zettie Pearl, Elizabeth, Sally, Gertrude, Walter, Jimmy, Buddy, Willie, and Arthur.
Mary (1888 – 1976) married, John Moody, and had seven children were born, Emma Minor, Carrie Daniel, Lavonza Moody, Alonza Moody, Henry Moody, Pat Moody, and Johnny Moody.
Eulayier (1891 – 1982) married, Jasper Brown, and had three children were born, Katie Mae, Anna, and Eula Hillman.
Willie (circa 1893 – 1960) married, Florence, and had four children were born, Milton Boykin, Charlie Boykin, Arthur Boykin, and Mary Frances Boykin.
Monroe (1894 – 1965) married, Mattie Neason, and had twelve children were born, Gladys, Dell, Eleanor, Juanita, Rosa, Anna, William, Miles, John L., James Monroe, Samuel, Andrew, and Hubert.
Leanord (circa 1896 – 1913) died in his teens as a result of an injury.
Patrick (1898 – 1986) married, Geaner. They raised Arvre, Dorothy, Beatrice, and Pecola.
Sara (circa 1900 – 1962) married, T. J. Willis, they were surrogate parents to many.
Johnny (circa 1902) passed away within his first year of life.
Rosa Lee (1904 – 1994) married, Winston Mapp and had one child, Annie Lois Rhodes.
Anderson, Jr. (1905 – 1964) married, Bridie M. Bell and had two children, Anderson Melvin III and Raymond Edward.
Edward (1906 – 1974) married, Lois Jackson. They were surrogate parents to many.
Eva Pearl (1911 – 1979) married, John Neeson and had three children, John Harris, Alvin Theodore, and Barbara Ann.
