In Loving Memory of Deacon Edward Boykin
Dearest Family and Friends,
Fifty years ago, we tragically lost Uncle Ed in a senseless act of hate towards Christians. This violence act took place at Ebenezer Baptist Church, killing Alberta King, the mother of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. and wounding a third member, Ms. Jimmie Mitchell. Though time has passed, the memory continues to hold a special place in our family history.
To honor Uncle Ed and the life he lived, we are asking you to attend Ebenezer on June 30, 2024, to sit with our family and friends. Ebenezer is in a “One Ebenezer Fund” campaign, designed to better position Ebenezer in its quest to carry out the Mission of Jessus Christ. Please join me by making a gift to this campaign in honor of Uncle Ed. If you are unable to attend this service and would like to participate, you may make a contribution to “One Ebenezer” in honor of Deacon Edward Boykin via Ebenezer website.
This service will be a time to remember Uncle Ed and the many unknown members and non-members that contributed to the battle for Civil Rights.
Your presence would be a great comfort to us as we remember my uncle, Deacon Edward Boykin.
With love,
Deacon James M. Boykin, Jr.
